Tottenham's opening Premier League fixture againstEverton this Saturday has been called off, talkSPORT understands.
The rioting that has spread across the country began close to Tottenham's White Hart Lane stadium at the weekend and, following talks with the police, the Premier League has decided to rearrange the game for a later date.
As yet, no other Premier League games scheduled for this weekend have been called off but, with police resources stretched, there are likely to be other casaulties.
England's friendly with Holland on Wednesday was postponed after the outbreaks of violence, while a string of Carling Cup games were also scrapped earlier this week over safety fears.
