Arsenal's Gervinho given three-game ban after red card

Gervinho and Joey BartonGervinho clashed with Joey Barton, sparking a mass brawl
Arsenal striker Gervinho has been banned for three matches following his sending off in the opening game of the season at Newcastle.
The Gunners had lodged an appeal that the standard three-match suspension for a straight red card was excessive.
But a Football Association commission rejected the claim, meaning the Ivorian is banned with immediate effect.
The 24-year-old will therefore miss matches against Liverpool, Manchester United and Swansea
