MY heart went out to Emmanuel Eboue when I saw the stick thrown at him by Besiktas fans over the weekend.
The former Arsenal full-back, now at Galatasaray, was subjected to all sorts of abuse and had missiles chucked at him in another example of what's wrong with football.
In Turkey, as in other places, it almost seems trendy to be racist at the moment and people are joining in because the punishment never seems to fit the crime.
I look at NBA stars like LeBron James and Kobe Bryant standing up for the lower guys and think that's what has to happen in football.
Let's see some big-name footballers doing likewise, because it's clear they will have to make a stance themselves... they're certainly not getting any help from above.
