KIERAN GIBBS is set to return for Arsenal on Boxing Day.

The left-back, sidelined since last month after a hernia operation, is back in full training and was hoping to play in Sunday's game at Manchester City.

But he is more likely to feature against Wolves in the holiday fixture at the Emirates.

Arsenal are planning a pre-season tour of Nigeria because the Emirates Cup will not be played due to the Olympics.

Marketing director Angus Kinnear, currently in Nigeria, revealed: "Arsenal have a very large fanbase here."
